Team Websites: The Future Looks Bright!

The future of Team Websites, a provider of bespoke club websites to grassroots football clubs, looks bright as we have some exciting major new releases, updates and an all-new member to the Team Websites team to announce.

Since our launch earlier this year, we have enjoyed discussing our platform with many football clubs and how it would benefit them. To introduce ourselves, we are the brains behind Team Websites – co-founders Morgan McLellan (a young website coder and aspiring sports journalist) and Nick Brown (a football coach and enthusiast, who also handles the production side of the project and any ideas).

Without further ado, we are delighted to announce the launch of an all-new website package; one which will bring huge benefits to clubs up and down the country and reinstate that sense of pride for what can be a very difficult and mammoth task for club webmasters, secretaries and team managers – a FREE bespoke club website that is not only easy-to-use but also fully responsive, adapting to any screen size, so no need to pinch and zoom.

Forget paying more, or actually anything, for having multiple teams, forget a website plagued with non-related advertising and not forgetting the premium prices charged by many in a similar market. Our new ‘free version’ is set to be initially released for beta testing within the next fortnight, to allow us to collect feedback and improve upon our 4 free club website templates. Therefore, we require between four and ten clubs to get in touch at the earliest convenience to help test out our new free club website creation service… With this timescale in mind, we are hereby setting a provisional official launch date for Friday 2nd June (2017).

Of course, we do have upgrades available (through our paid packages), but our service was invented with the idea of giving something back to grassroots football teams. We currently offer our Legend package at £300 per year*, which allows clubs to request a custom-designed website template that really drives the image of their club from the outset – something that is not possible with other providers of club websites. With all of our paid packages, we offer a minimum of four email accounts, the cost of a domain name (i.e., a website with no advertising that links in with your existing social media pages, an online control panel that allows you to update your club website with just a few clicks, plus priority technical support. An example of an active club using our Legend package is Blackpool-based youth club, Foxhall F.C (for website, click here). While our Legend package is aimed at those clubs wishing to take it to the next level, our more affordable Starter package – priced at just £60 per year – may be suited to those clubs working with a tight budget, or there’s always our free version, as mentioned above!

Core Features

The following are core features for both our free and paid versions:

  • Choice of 4 templates – options to add background & header image and colour.
  • Logo & Colours – your website, your way! Change your website’s colours at anytime at a few clicks of a button, and don’t be restricted to just a few set colours – use our colour picker to pick the perfect colour. Also display your club’s crest (logo) in the header of your website.
  • Online Control Panel (Admin Panel) – easy-to-use and divided into clear, related sections.
  • No non-related advertising – forget slow loading times and adverts being a priority for a club website provider and adverts that may be potentially unsuitable to your audience.
  • Sponsors slider and placements – our 4 website templates offer varying positions for adding sponsor logos; header, footer and/or homepage (may vary between templates).
  • Affiliations – add the logo of the County FA your club is affiliated to by selecting it in our Live Preview window.
  • Technical support – we’ve assembled some help guides to help you get started on all aspects on your club website – we recommend reading through these (try searching a word for specific results). New Features

One of these upgrades is a new feature for our paid club website product; Club Shop. Too often, clubs are charged a premium price for not only a club website but for selling club-branded merchandise and kit through a third-party online store; our new feature allows clubs to keep 100% of all profit made, easily keep stock of each product and create as many products for their club shop as they wish – this is a feature for both our Amateur and Legend packages. Player Payments, meanwhile, is a paid add-on feature available under both our free and paid website packages, for just £9.99** per team per year (12 months). This feature, also available as a paid add-on feature to our free version, allows clubs to collect fees, fines and other forms of payment from players, parents and supporters as either a one-off or recurring payment.

Twitter Competition – Update

Recently, we ran a competition via Twitter for clubs to win a free ‘forever’ club website. It is safe to say that the response to this was quite promising from the footballing community. Congratulations once again to Tunbridge Wells Football Club, who we look forward to working with.

We have another exciting announcement to make, and in order to fulfil in our long-term ambitions, we have a new member to welcome to the Team Websites team, in aspiring entrepreneur, Keith Holmes.
